How to Clean a Paintball Gun?

November 22, 2021 by admin Leave a Comment

Cleaning a paintball gun may be the most tedious and time-consuming task you’ll ever have to do.

It’s also critical not to skip this work. The performance of a gun on the range and its total lifetime are determined by its well-maintained condition. After a few days of not cleaning your paintball gun, the paintballs may explode inside of it.

Don’t wait too long, or you’ll have to pay your hard-earned cash for new components. Taking appropriate care of your marker might help you avoid this expense. To possess a gun that routinely jams or gives wrong results is useless.

It may also have an impact on the other players on the pitch. With a simple wash, your pistol can function at its best. However, polishing your marker has a considerable impact.

For successful cleaning, each marker is unique and needs its own procedure or materials. Getting the work done right is uncomplicated and straightforward.

First, let’s take a look at the materials you’ll need to finish the cleaning of a paintball pistol.

Needed supplies

  • The hexadecimal keys
  • Your paintball gun’s schematic diagram
  • a soft cloth
  • a roll of paper towels
  • Squeegees
  • Water that’s at least room temperature
  • An oil-based lubricant

Now, let’s get started!

Disconnect the Equipment

Remove any extra equipment, such as a CO2 tank, hopper, etc., from your cannon before you begin. Gather some paper towels and set them on the table. Before dismantling, it is usually a good idea to cover the table with a white sheet to prevent the loss of O-rings and other tiny pieces.

Clean Outer Body

You may use warm tap water or an empty Windex bottle to clean the outside of the body. Once you’ve soaked the cloth or paper towel for a few seconds, remove the excess water.

Analyze Schematic Diagram

Look to your marker schematic diagram to get a sense of where the screws are and each internal element.

Take out the screws.

Remove each screw one at a time and place them in a secure place. After that, take off your marker’s top cap.

Dismantle and Wipe Down

The best practice is to keep all of the parts together in a precise order so that it’s simpler to reassemble them when the time comes. Now, rinse a soft towel in warm water and wipe off the inside of your marker. You should clean individual components as well. At this time, it’s best not to use water directly from the tap.

Use Squeegees

You may use squeegees to remove any barrel after firing.

Apply Towel Drying

To remove any remaining moisture, dab the area with a dry cloth.

Lubricate the internal parts

Using a gentle and thin brush, apply oil or other lubricants to every component. Lubricants should be applied to the metal parts to prevent corrosion.

Set Up Your Weapon

Assemble the internal pieces following the schematic drawings, then tighten the screws using the Hex keys.

Dry It Up

Finally, let the paintball gun air dry for one to two hours in a warm, dry place (not in direct sunshine).

Conclusion

Using water to clean a paintball gun is explained in this article. A paintball gun will last longer and perform better if cleaned regularly.
